After visiting Nara in 2019, I couldn't stop thinking about how good I felt there, about that feeling of time slowing down, the smell of trees, the sight of deer walking by as though the city belonged to them (it does), and the kindness of the people we met. I knew that we needed to go back whenever we had the chance to visit again, and this December, when we did, I saw Nara again.
